Doctor Who returns October 7 on BBC America! The trailers for the upcoming season have been getting fantastic reviews.

New changes are in store for the show. Jodie Whittaker is playing the Thirteenth Doctor, making her the first woman to play the role. There are only going to be 10 episodes this season, but there will be a Christmas special. This is also the first year in which Doctor Who is airing on Sunday nights.

As well as a new Doctor, there will be a full fledged TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space) team. This will be the biggest team since the Fifth Doctor was on screen in 1984 with companions Nyssa, Tegan, and Turlough. Thirteen will be starting her season with Yasmin, Graham, and Ryan.

This new incarnation of the Doctor was last seen regenerating in a damaged TARDIS and then falling to the earth below. While new showrunner Chris Chibnall has stated that there would be no aliens, monsters, or time-traveling companions from the previous seasons, some people believe that this is a lie to keep away spoilers. This has been done before with villains such as the Daleks and the Master. Now all that remains is to rewatch previous episodes in anticipation for this new season.
