As spring sports commence, so does boy’s volleyball. The boy’s started off their season with two losses. They lost their first home game against Montini and lost their second home game against West Chicago. Don’t let those two losses make you think boy’s volleyball isn’t good. They have many more games coming up and they are ready to show how much hard work and effort they’ve been putting in.

“I’m really excited for the potential this team has this season. We have a lot of skillful and athletic varsity players that have returned. It’s awesome seeing how much we have evolved from last year to this year, considering that this year’s varsity is last year’s varsity. I’m excited to see what the rest of the season has in store for us and it is without a doubt in my mind that we are State Bound,” said Patrick Gleeson, one of the team captains.

Top returners coming back for the volleyball season are: Patrick Gleeson (Sr.), Collan O’Neill (Sr.), Max Macordes (Sr.), Reno Domel (Sr.), Liam Jackson (Jr.), Evan Sajtar (So.), and Chase Brieger (So.).

Some new players to watch out for are: Massimo Ranallo (Jr.), Tyler Zemko (Fr.), and Matt Brammer (Fr.).

Boy’s volleyball is a very underrated and not a frequently watched sport at St. Edward. I suggest that you go and watch one of their games coming up. Catch the boy’s volleyball team at their next home game on April 26! Junior varsity starts at 5:00 p.m. and varsity starts at 6:00 p.m.
