Hang up your lights, get your Christmas tree up, and turn up that Christmas music, “It’s TIME” as Mariah Carey would say. With so many things to do this December, don’t make it like your “last Christmas”. Get up and go “Rockin’ around the Christmas tree” in downtown Chicago.
If you are ever in Chicago during the winter season, get ready because the city transforms into a breathtaking winter wonderland, with blankets of snow and Christmas lights ranging in colors from red, green, and blue to warm white lights to set the scene for a warm, joyful season. The Grinch could never steal Christmas in downtown Chicago. There is so much to do, see, and experience that would make your heart grow three sizes this holiday season.
One of the best things you are able to do are go to Millennium Park and take pictures at the Bean, and also go to the ice rink there to ice skate with your friends and have fun. You could also go to the Christmas markets, and you can try their really good hot chocolate, and for the teachers, you can try their really hot spiced wine. I heard Mrs. Schmidt say it is really good.
After that, you can go to the Lincoln Park Zoo and watch all the lights that they do every single year for people to go check out. They also give you two options to walk through the zoo and look at the light, or even drive through the light show. It is really kid-friendly, and if you have little siblings, I recommend you take them.
Another really cute activity to do would be to go to the Sears Tower when it’s getting darker and buy tickets to go all the way to the Skydeck and take pictures with the snow in the buildings and the Christmas lights, which would show up in your pictures. It would look like a really colorful holiday. You can also go to the Christmas concerts to hear the Christmas carols or even watch a Christmas show. They usually do it throughout the week, and it would be nice to do that late at night after work or even school.
This season is all about love, giving, and togetherness. Christmas is a time to care for others, share generosity, and get the chance to experience so many different things, and in Chicago, they give you the full package. So get in your holiday cheer and experience the magic of Christmas in Chicago.
