Mr. Bimmerle had been a teacher at St. Edward for what seems to be ages, until he retired one year ago. Yet, he has returned for what he says is to substitute for absent teachers, but is it just a facade? In this segment, we will be investigating what Mr. Bimmerle’s ulterior motive is for his return, and if it is just a coincidence that he returned on the week of Halloween…
During my resource period, which Mr. Bimmerle substitutes for, he often sits at the desk, staring intently at a book in front of him. The cover says Physical Chemistry, but when I approach his desk, he quickly slams the book shut. Sometimes, I see him mouthing words, but it could mean nothing.
Throughout the week of Mr. Bimm’s return, I have been keeping an eye on his whereabouts during the day. There is an opening in his schedule at 6th period, during which I notice him return to the chemistry room he used to occupy as a teacher, and walk into the supply closet, closing the door behind him. There must be something in there that he is hiding…
On Thursday, I get over my nerves and decide to investigate what is in the supply closet. I make my way to the room during 4th period, while Mr. Bimmerle is substituting for biology, scanning the halls to make sure I won’t be seen. I enter the supply closet, and nothing is out of the ordinary upon first glance. There are beakers, chemicals, cleaning supplies, and other equipment that would be expected in a supply closet. Defeated, I turn to leave the closet, but I feel a shift in the tile beneath my feet. I bend over and pry the tile off from the ground, which requires some effort. Underneath the tile, I find the book Mr. Bimmerle was reading earlier, Physical Chemistry, bottles containing glowing substances, a chalice, an array of candles, and a large purple crystal. Curious as to what the true contents of the book are, I open it to the front page, which is titled The Wizards Guide to Complete Ascension. When I read this, I figure it must be a joke, but that feeling lessens as I flip through the pages. The book is written in some language I have never seen, and it is filled with horrendous photos of supernatural beings. Could Mr. Bimmerle be trying to reach a higher level of existence? And if he is, what does he need from St. Edward and does it put the rest of the school in danger? Stay tuned to find out the truth about St. Edward’s most ancient teacher.
