With the Valentine’s season coming up, some might find themselves lonely. The best way to overcome these feelings is to binge the best rom-coms ever made. If you find yourself wondering what the best rom-coms are, I have the list for you. Here are the top 5 rom-coms to watch on Valentine’s Day.
- Anyone But You: This movie is young and modern, and said to be one of the best rom-coms since the 2000s. With its witty and inappropriate jokes, it leaves one with no choice but to laugh aloud. This film leaves everyone in the theater walking out with a smile on their face. Actors Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell portrayed their characters Bea and Ben perfectly and provided the audience with plenty of secondhand embarrassment. Alaina Nolan, ’26, said, “This movie was hilarious. The jokes were light-hearted, I would watch it again for sure”.
- Crazy Rich Asians: This is personally my favorite. This is a lighthearted movie; however, within the film, the main character, Racheal Chu, faces many challenges against her love interest, Nick Young’s, family. This movie is a whirlwind of emotions, and one could never get tired of this film.
- Clueless: A well-known classic that is funny, witty, and surprising. This unbelievably iconic film has famous lines that everyone knows. Well-known actors Paul Rudd and Alicia Silverstone leave you slightly confused as their romance develops over time.
- The Princess Diaries 1 and 2: This series is a Disney classic that is unbelievably hilarious. This heartwarming series is perfect to watch when you are sick or just need a “pick me up.” In this series, we follow a young Anne Hathaway through her journey of Princesshood; movie star Julie Andrews portrays her grandmother and helps her through this long journey.
- How To Lose a Guy In 10 Days: This is one of the most loved and well-known films, that has a mix of emotions. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey portray two adults trying to prove different theories; however, they both learn their plan is not going the way they want and facing unexpected challenges.
These movies will not disappoint and are the best of the best. If you are to watch any Rom-coms, these are the ones I suggest.
