Have you ever wondered what the best holiday is? Well, I will settle the debate for you: the best holiday is without a doubt Thanksgiving. From the terrific turkey to quality time with your family, there are unlimited reasons why Thanksgiving brings out the best in you, and I hope you don’t take your Thanksgiving celebration for granted.
The first thing most people think about when it comes to Thanksgiving is the food. Turkey, rolls, stuffing, and pie are all the things that make this holiday the best. I know that if I could have a delicious homemade dinner every day, I would. I think that it’s special because of the variety of food, there is such a mix of comfort foods that is used at Thanksgiving that really makes people feel happy.
Other than food, there are the TV shows. I know that when I wake up on Thanksgiving Day, the first thing I am watching is the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. The feeling of waking up in your pajamas, automatically turning on your television, and gathering around your couch with your family is one of the things that makes Thanksgiving the best. The most underrated Thanksgiving activity by far is the dog show that follows; I know that most families now don’t watch this but my family are huge fans of the dog show, and I love watching and judging the dogs. This year, the Best in Show went to Stache, a Sealyham Terrier.
Now if you are one who thinks that Christmas is the best holiday, you are wrong and have forgotten the stress of buying presents and decorating the house every year. I know that Christmas time is joyful and exciting, and trust me I love it too; however, some things gets out of hand, and in this generation, the only things that seem to matter about Christmas for kids are presents. The thing that puts Thanksgiving on top of Christmas is its sole purpose of having a nice meal with your family, realizing all that you have and being grateful for it.
Overall, there are many reasons why Thanksgiving is the best holiday. I could go on and on listing and arguing; however, the true reason why Thanksgiving is the best holiday is because of the pie.
