Ms. Mix
Ms. Mix went to Illinois State university where she acquired both her Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in education. She teaches Academic Support and she also co-teaches Algebra Essentials with Mr. Godinez. This is her 27th year of teaching! Ms. Mix was asked what she likes best about St. Ed’s and she said, “God being the center of education.” Some of her hobbies include camping, traveling, reading, swimming and spending time with her dogs.
A quirk Ms. Mix has is that she collects Plutos as in Mickey Mouse’s dog, not the planet. Three words to describe Ms. Mix are entertaining, compassionate, and helpful. She lives with and takes care of her stepdad after her mom passed away. She has two dogs: Coco and Keiko. Her hero is Pope Francis because he provides a different insight into the teaching and the direction of the church. He is an example of what Jesus wants us all to live. Her other hero is her mother. She was an amazing role model of a strong woman who put God and her family first. A couple things Ms. Mix wants us to know about her is that she lives in Sun City and she is a founding member of Association of Horizon which provides social activities including a week long overnight summer camp for individuals with and without physical disabilities. This past summer they had 315 participants for the overnight summer camp.
